Let’s start by defining “open play.” Open play in terms of bowling is any time people are bowling when lanes are available and league play is not taking place. Open play prices vary. At West Acres, open play is $3.99 per game/per person (and $2.75 for the shoe rental). For anyone 16 or younger, it’s $2.50 per game/per person and only $1 for their shoe rental.
Not too bad right? Wait … it gets better.
Open play typically takes place with the lights on. Cosmic Bowling is open play with the lights off and on the weekends, there are AWESOME rates!
I must admit, I am partial to talking about West Acres since I work there. And for my Newman University readers–it’s close to campus!
So, besides the light’s being off during Cosmic, there are also cool lights (disco ball turners, lasers, etc), fog, and black lights. What makes cosmic even more enjoyable is the loud, upbeat music!
Friday nights at West Acres is ladies night! Ladies are COMPLETELY FREE (bowling and shoes) and guys are only $12. Cosmic takes place between 11:30 p.m. and 1:45 a.m. with a `10:30 p.m check-in for reservations and walk-ins. Reservations are taken any day, any time to ensure you have a lane when you arrive! As long as you show up before the bowling starts.
Saturday night is Club Cosmic! It is $10 for both men and women to bowl unlimited from 11p.m. to 1:45 a.m. Reservations are taken for Club Cosmic, too! Check in starts at 10 p.m.
What is awesome about Club Cosmic is that we have a LIVE DJ! She takes requests all night long for our guests. Occasionally prizes are given away and contests take place during Club Cosmic, too!
